I have tutored a broad range of academic levels from basic arithmetic to Algebra II and Calculus to even Statistics.

I have always wanted to be a math teacher and enjoyed tutoring on the side, as well as helping some of my peers who have returned to college with their math courses. I have always felt that my credibility as a teacher would increase should I have other career experience under my belt. Hence, my insurance job! However, I absolutely love math and cannot wait to have my job where I get to teach it every day.

I feel that the best way to help someone learn is to make sure that they actually understand how to do something and why they are doing it, so that they will be able to apply the method to more than one single problem. I also feel that everyone learns differently; I am very sensitive to that and adjust my teaching methods accordingly. It is very important to me that the student thoroughly understands the concepts and not just how to do one problem. It's a great feeling to get the right answer, but it's an even greater feeling to understand and be able to get that second problem correct as well!

In addition to math, I also enjoy science. My favorite hobbies include running, cooking and salsa dancing!
