Hi, I am Shashank and am really excited to be a tutor at Varsity Tutors. I am currently working full time as a Manager for Risk Management at one of the largest banks in the world. I joined Varsity out of my keen interest in teaching mathematics and helping students.

Throughout my career and during my masters and undergrad, I enjoyed teaching to direct reports, junior analysts, classmates and students. I graduated from University of Texas at Austin with a Masters degree in Civil Engineering with a 4.0 GPA in 2006. During my Masters, I worked as a research assistant and trained two interns in data analysis, statistics and worked with them in completing research projects. In the GRE (Graduate Record Exam) I scored 800/800 in math which helped me secure admission to University of Texas at Austin with a tuition waiver.

Prior to that, I graduated with a Bachelors in Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in Civil Engineering with a 3.6 GPA. During summer vacation in my junior and senior years I trained high school students in Mathematics for the IIT JEE (Joint Entrance Examination), one of the most competitive exams with about 5% acceptance rate at a tutoring center in Hyderabad, India.

I have a strong interest in Mathematics and take genuine interest in the progress of my students. I look forward to working with you and helping you out with whatever your math problem is !!!
