I was an English Ph.D. student at Washington University in St. Louis, where I gained 5 years of experience teaching writing, reading, and study skills as well as mentoring students.

I have worked with a range of students, from those working on basic essay structure, grammar, and mechanics to advanced undergraduate students preparing graduate-level research projects. The great gift of my education at Wash U was that I was able to work individually with students and to help them develop their writing skills and scholarship.

I am well poised to prepare test prep since I have personally experienced a variety of test prep methods and am well versed in what works. I hope not only to improve test scores but also to reduce test-taking anxiety. Targeted techniques coupled with confidence boosts scores.

My central aim is to build enthusiasm for whatever project is at hand. Having taught several sections of a required writing course, I have ample experience capitalizing on a student's interests in order to build an interest in what may seem at first a burdensome task.

In addition to writing and reading, I love playing music with my band, seeing movies, exploring St. Louis, and spending time with my friends.
