MY PERSONAL STATEMENT
I hold a BS in physics/mathematics from Northeastern University and most recently have been pursuing graduate coursework at Rice University while studying electric transport in strongly-correlated materials. Before my fellowship at Rice, I worked at a small start-up company in Massachusetts where my research in nano-technology culminated in several patents for promising device architectures.
While at Northeastern University, I had the pleasure of tutoring first and second-year students in calculus, general physics, and modern physics. I also had the opportunity to tutor high school students in mathematics (algebra, geometry, and statistics) while in my senior year. As an active participant in the process of developing skills necessary for critical thinking and discovery, I find the process of tutoring others to be a profoundly gratifying experience.
Much of my spare time is spent devoted to painting, reading literature, and running.
