MY PERSONAL STATEMENT
Hi. I’m a recent Brown University MFA graduate with an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and I’ve just recently moved to New York City.
I like to keep things fun and break any and all problems / assignments down to their simplest forms. The simplest form is usually the foundation to it all.
I have taught and/or tutored students from 3rd to 12th grade and taught at public high schools as well as private elementary programs. I love working with students of all ages. I am very familiar with the school systems and have developed my own teaching approach that leaves the students that I work with feeling a sense of accomplishment and ownership of the material. I have found that this is the key to lasting and continuing progress.
When I’m facing a challenge, I just think to myself, “If others before me have done this, I can definitely do it!” The same goes for you. I’m just going to be there to help you figure out how.
