Award Winning Academic Tutoring & Test Prep

Hi, my name is Gresa and, as of 2012/13 I am in my fourth year of undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona. I am majoring in Microbiology and minoring in Turkish, Spanish, and Chemistry.

During these past years at the University of Arizona, I have held quite a few positions that have allowed me to help students academically. I have worked as an ACT preparation instructor for the Tucson GEAR Up Project, which is a college readiness program for high school students in the Tucson community. As an ACT prep instructor, I helped high school students prepare for the ACT college entrance exam by leading workshops in order to provide them with strategies and practice to succeed on the test.

In addition, I have been an undergraduate preceptor for General Chemistry at the University of Arizona. As a preceptor, I helped students understand the material presented during lecture, and provided my assistance to them during tutor hours to aid them in the completion of their homework and preparation for their examinations.

Besides these two experiences, I also worked as an academic skills tutor at the University of Arizona Think Tank. As an academic skills tutor, I helped students with their time management, study strategies, stress management, and other related skills in order to help them achieve academic success in college.

The combination of these teaching/tutor experiences has allowed me to gain a clear perspective of the skills necessary to be an effective tutor, which I believe involve providing support and guidance as a means of fostering independent learning.

After earning my undergraduate degree, I hope to attend and graduate from medical school with my MD degree. I would like to become a physician and provide great health care to the members of my community.
