I'm a former English major, lifelong reader, current science student, and aspiring physician. I grew up in Texas and attended college at Abilene Christian University, where I earned a B.A. in English in 2008. I then briefly pursued graduate studies in English literature before deciding that I wanted to do something where I would have more opportunities to work with people. I eventually landed on medicine, and I have spent the last few years preparing myself for that goal by doing Americorps and completing a post-baccalaureate premedical program at Goucher College in Baltimore. I hope to enter medical school in the fall of 2012.

Because of my personal experiences changing gears from the humanities to the natural sciences, I know what it's like to struggle with difficult new material like chemistry and biology. I look forward to working with you to help you find what you enjoy about these subjects. On the other hand, I love keeping in touch with my literary side, and I'd love the opportunity to help support you through any reading and writing difficulties. I have lots of experience teaching and tutoring standardized test prep, so I'm very familiar with the tests and with the targeted studying strategies that will help you reach your potential.

My teaching style is very student-focused. I will do my best to get to know your unique learning style so that I can adapt my lessons to the specific content and approach that work best for you. I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your goals!
