After graduating from an art history graduate program in New York, I received a job offer to work at the Breman Jewish Heritage Museum in Atlanta. While I studied art history as an undergraduate at Columbia University and in graduate school at the Jewish Theological Seminary, huge parts of my field are both writing and history, and art history requires that I am well versed in both subjects.

I began tutoring English and writing while I was a junior in high school, through a writing practicum program. In this class, we learned to work one on one with our peers during writing critiques, as well as work as teacher's assistants for a second grade English class. This experience aided me throughout my college years, and inspired me to begin a writing critique for one of Columbia's newspapers once I became editor in chief.

Even though I was a tutor myself, I was also a tutee--I am indebted to my tutors that helped me through both the SATs and the GREs. Without them, I would not have managed to do as well as I did on my exams, and thus would not have been able to attend the schools that I did.

From my own experiences, I know that tutoring is not just for students who need extra help--it is beneficial to everyone. The personalized attention and one-on-one lessons can be useful for straight A students as well!

Now that I am out of the world of academia, I have begun to read for pleasure once more, and also continue my own artistic pursuits. I love to paint, draw, sculpt, and knit. I have also begun to grow a garden and do other outdoorsy things which Atlanta affords me, which I could never have accomplished in New York.
