I've always found myself drawn to helping others - and this has expanded to the academic circle. Anything I have an understanding of, I seek to aid others in enhancing their understanding. With students I tutor, I seek to not only help them learn the information but to also learn application - how and why ideas and concepts work - and create a network of knowledge based on what the student already knows.

I am currently a Senior at Texas Christian University with a GPA of 3.79 in the Coordinated Program in Dietetics - a selective program for future Dietitians. Our specific program focuses on education, and through classes and internships I have taught everyone from 3rd grade at the Starpoint School to senior citizens with Meals on Wheels and Senior Citizen Services. Much of my education has focused on learning processes and how to best use them to the student's advantage.

My strengths have always been math and science, with a special affinity for life sciences. I've tutored middle and high school students from Pre-Algebra to Algebra 2. I also love the French language and have tutored up to Level 3. Graduating from The Oakridge School, I began learning testing skills from 6th grade - taking my first PSAT in the 8th grade. With standardized testing, I try to focus on teaching students not only the material, but how to take the test and especially how to use the test to one's advantage - all of the answers are there, if you know how to look!
