I have a Master's Degree in History from the University of Alabama, and I recently moved back to the Atlanta area. I now am a lecturer at Alanta Metropolitan College. I can help students at all levels with their understanding of history, approaching essay writing, test taking skills and prep, and study skills.

At both the University of Alabama and Atlanta Metropolitan college I taught both U.S. and World history, and I am well versed in both areas. My student evaluations were always very high and I focused on making history fun and relevant to things happening today. I try to take history from boring facts to interesting connections that tell a story and explain why events come about.

I also try to focus on helping students learn to express their ideas through writing, both in formal essays and in-class. This includes writing well thought out thesis statements, analyzing the material, and making the correct connections from the material given to them, whether it is from a textbook or primary sources.

Most importantly, I love teaching. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others and am a patient tutor, willing to go at the student's speed. Anyone can understand and enjoy history, and my greatest joy comes from taking a student who tells me "I'm just not good at history" and watching them succeed on the next test.

Beyond teaching I enjoy watching movies, reading fantasy and sci/fi, music, volunteering at the Atlanta History Center, and Alabama Football- Roll Tide!
