MY PERSONAL STATEMENT
Hi all! I'm a recent math/biology double from the University of Chicago making the transition from South- to North-Sider.
Over the past eight years, I've worked with students of every age from 12 to 20, both in Miami and here in Chicago. This has taken the form of summer math enrichment programs where I worked closely with both CPS students and teachers, being a teaching assistant for first-year students at the UofC, and extensive one-on-one tutoring with students from my high school. I can proudly say I've taught math and hard science to all types, from poets to future engineers.
I focus on teaching my students to always think for themselves and to come up with their own solutions rather than relying on rote memorization. My goal is that come test time, even if they are initially stumped, the intuition that students have worked so hard to build up will push them in the right direction.
In my free time, I devour books, go on cooking adventures, and explore Chicago with my friends.
