MY PERSONAL STATEMENT
I received my Bachelor of Science in European history and theatre from Northwestern University. Both of my parents taught high school social studies, so you might say teaching runs in the family! I believe that every student has the capability to achieve academically, but that, sometimes, traditional classroom instruction isn't quite enough to lead each student to his or her potential. Working one-on-one with a student allows me to target areas of weakness, while increasing his confidence in his ability to achieve.
Standardized testing isn't particularly fun, but getting into the college of your dreams is, and conquering the SAT and/or the ACT is an important step in the process. Tutoring sessions don't have to be unpleasant or scary--I work with each student to find the methods and practices that will work for her, in a low-stress environment.
