MY PERSONAL STATEMENT
I have a passion for math and science and I love sharing that passion with others. Helping others understand these subjects is so fulfilling. My favorite part of teaching is seeing students finally start to understand a concept and watching their agitation fade and turn into relief and eventually curiosity with the material.
I spent two years of my undergrad at the Math Department tutoring center where I tutored subjects ranging from Elementary Algebra to Multivariable Calculus. In graduate school I was a teaching assistant for an introductory Physics class for one semester. I led laboratories as well as a discussion period to go over homework questions.
Being a lifelong student of math and science, I think I have a strong understanding of students' frustrations with the subjects having experienced many of them myself at one point or another. I can provide a fresh perspective to students and help them view problems in different ways that teachers may not have the time to do.
