MY PERSONAL STATEMENT
Hi, my name is Ben Rackham. I graduated recently from Westminster College of Salt Lake City with a B.S. in Neuroscience and currently live in Tucson. I split my time between tutoring with Varsity Tutors, working as a biology technician at an environmental consulting firm, preparing for graduate school, and exploring Tucson and its environs.
My past tutoring clients include high school students taking Precalculus, Chemistry and preparing for the ACT and SAT, as well as college students taking Algebra, Precalculus, and Chemistry courses. My passions and experience, however, cover the range of academic subjects, so I'm always up to take a new client in a different discipline.
After graduate school, I aim to become a professor at a small liberal arts college. That way, I can simultaneously benefit my community and nurture my love of learning, while still leaving my summers open for climbing big mountains. Until then, when I'm not tutoring or working my day job, you can find me spending my spare time studying in Tucson's coffee shops, exploring the night sky through the public access telescope at the UA Flandrau Planetarium, or hiking, climbing, and birding in Southern Arizona's Sky Island mountain ranges.
