I am a dietetic intern at Yale-New Haven Hospital. I have a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering but nutrition has always been my true passion! I have a strong science background and am an outgoing person with a passion for helping others.

I have been actively tutoring sine 2010. From 2010 to 2014 I tutored with Varsity Tutors. After moving to an area where I knew a lot of potential clientele, I tutored independently for 2 years.

I have worked with students in Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Integrated Science, Chemistry, Physics and SAT Prep. I really enjoy helping students learn, and I think this is because I personally love to learn. I want other students to feel the same passion for learning and have the sense of satisfaction and accomplishment that I get when I do well in a class because of my hard work. I believe that any student that is determined enough and is given sufficient one-on-one attention can succeed in any subject that is troubling him or her. I enjoy being part of this process. I truly hope my passion for learning rubs off on the students that I have tutored.

In my free time, I like exercising, blogging, trying out new restaurants and spending time with my friends.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

I believe that the key to being an exceptional tutor is individualizing your approach based on the student's personality, learning style, and academic needs. There is no such thing as one-size-fits-all when it comes to learning, so why should there be one when it comes to teaching others?

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

In a typical first session, I set aside the first few minutes to ask the student some questions about his or her learning style and academic goals. This will help me to ensure that the way I am presenting the material will be well-received by the student. The more personalized I can make our tutoring sessions, the better!
