MY PERSONAL STATEMENT
I am a Psychology and Ecology & Evolutionary Biology major at Rice University. I have been tutoring a wide variety of subjects since middle school.
My approach to teaching is to cater to the learning style of the individual student. I focus on what the students feel is their weakest area. I like to develop study guides with the student to help them pinpoint key topics and through the process engage in comprehensive review of the material.
I let the students lead the direction of the sessions through their questions rather than lecturing. I am accessible and flexible with scheduling. I aim to relate the concepts to the student by explaining the information in everyday contexts and develop tricks and mnemonics to best grasp the material.
