I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Biochemistry and a minor in Spanish, and am currently pursuing dental school. I have 3 years experience in teaching and 2 years of tutoring. Since my clients are diverse in age and ability, I have employed many different methods of teaching and know what works for different types of learners. Unlike some, math was not an easy subject for me, therefore I understand the frustration students have when tackling math, especially at the higher levels. In Spanish, also, I know what works well for non-native learners because I, too, had to learn it from a foreigner's perspective. No matter what the subject, learning with me is never dull. I emphasize thinking outside the box, using logic and understanding instead of rote memorization or repetitive work.

I can list all of my academic achievements and/or awards (alright, it's not that long), but what is more important is how you will learn and succeed. I love seeing the wide-eyed glow on students' faces when the eureka hits them, so that is my goal every time I teach or tutor.

When I am not helping someone achieve their "Oh yeah!" moments, I try to stay in shape by playing tennis, ping pong, and strumming my guitar. I am a big Star Wars fan and have promised myself to read Harry Potter. Is anyone else sad that Yao Ming is retiring?!
