I graduated from Rice University in Spring 2011 with a BA in English and a minor in Biochemistry & Cell Biology. I am currently earning a MS in Global Medicine at USC, and I plan to attend medical school next fall.

I've been tutoring for Varsity Tutors since my sophomore year of college. My tutoring method is based on the fundamental relationship between the teacher and the student; I like to reach a safe space where the student feels comfortable with both knowing and not knowing the answer, where they will be able to develop their personal skills as well as their academic prowess. I believe that everyone has potential to do well, though the arena for success might differ greatly from individual to individual. I have three younger siblings aged 19, 13, and 5, so I'm good at working with a wide age range, and I keep personal ability in mind when I teach. In most cases, I've been there too, taken these classes, seen these problems, and am ready to help.

Since I majored in two different academic spheres, I can help out in both English and Biology related subjects. I love to write, and editing is one of my favorite things to do. Being an English major, I'm well read in the literature sense and am used to the rigors of essay writing. I also love science and am passionate about the intricacies of our organic world.
