"I went to school in Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. I first started tutoring as a volunteer for middle school students who were struggling in math. Over the years, I've worked with students on various subjects ranging from Spanish (my mother is from Mexico City) to history. I've always enjoyed working with people, and I love being able to instill confidence and hope! In my free time, I like to explore Houston and the globe! My next trip will hopefully be to South America in the Spring!."

"I fell in love with the study of ancient languages and their respective literatures and cultures. My aim in tutoring is to instill a similar love for language in all its forms in my students. I have taught Latin at the college level, but I am eager to work more closely with students at all levels one on one, tailoring my methods to meet their individual needs, while keeping Latin both fun and rewarding, as it should be. I just moved back to the Houston area after almost ten years away in college and graduate school, and I look forward to reconnecting with my home and sharing what I've learned in my time away!." ...

"I often helped friends understand class material they had problems with, and I began teaching informally in church and camp programs. In college at Baylor University, I continued helping friends when they needed it and became a tutor for Waco ISD. I completed my degree in Secondary Education with teaching fields in History and English. I enjoy studying pretty much anything in history, but my main focus has been American, Texas and British histories."

" Through countless hours spent rehearsing and practicing, participating in student-run theatre, contemplating life in political science seminars, learning to speak two new languages, and performing on-stage in front of audiences large and small, I learned how to be a well-rounded musician, teacher, and life-long student. The arts are my passion, but education comes in at a close second. I aspire to become a voice teacher, and I enjoy helping others in any way I can. I worked as a counselor for a summer program for high school students in North Carolina, and have been an advocate for educational programs and helping to fulfill students' ...

"I actually enjoy working out math problems (especially Trigonometry and Calculus) as it gives me a sense of accomplishment like solving a puzzle. I would also say that I have a great sense of humor and a positive personality. My goal in tutoring is to present the material in a creative way that engages the student. In my opinion, when it comes to mathematics, a student's biggest enemy is low self confidence."

"I also earned a Cambridge CELTA certification for teaching English as a foreign language. I believe communication and expression are key elements in any successful human relationship which may explain my attraction to all aspects of performance and visual arts and to languages. I have helped students and peers of all ages and skill levels, from different language backgrounds to achieve their English communication goals. Most recently I have done so in Italy. "I was born in Austin and have lived in Virginia and Illinois but I have lived in Houston since I was 6 years old. While I do tutor various subjects my favorite subject, and the one I am the most passionate about, is history. As a graduate student I specialized in world history as well as the Civil War era including the antebellum and reconstruction periods.
