Tutoring review by Sophie Paulette in Wendell, NC
The student finished reading Bunnicula. He didn't mispronounce words today. After that, I asked him to write from a prompt: imagine he had several pets and what a day in his life would be with those pets. He tends to write minimally, but I coaxed him to give more details and write longer sentences. He still needs to work on that. Finally we finished the session with some reading comprehension from short passages, which he did well on.

The student had some geometry homework, a continuation of work they had done in class, about the straight-angle theorem and the right angle theorem. Another part of the homework was a bit unclear about what substitutions were expected, and he agreed to clear that up with his teacher.

Tutoring review by Eduard in Wendell, NC
The student needed to study calculus. He has been struggling with his tests and so we reviewed most of the concepts that they have covered this semester including limits, continuity, derivatives (and their rules), applications of derivatives, etc. He says that he often does not have time to check his work after exams and therefore, does not catch the simple mistakes that he may make. While it is important to make sure that he completely understands the material, it is just as important to address study habits and test-taking strategies. We will continue to address these issues as we prepare for his final exam.
