Round Rock Tutoring FAQ

How much does Varsity Tutors cost for students in Round Rock?

The price of private instruction with a tutor for students in Round Rock varies. One factor that can influence the cost of a lesson is the number of times a student meets with their educator.

For example, a college student working with their instructor throughout the course of an entire term may pay less per session than a student at Griffin School who is meeting with an instructor for a month or two leading up to the ACT. Additionally, study sessions for an elementary school student learning basic reading skills may cost a different price than sessions for a university student who is learning about English literature.

Today we went over some good study tips and habits that would better suit a heavy workload class like organic chemistry. We went over some basic mechanism concepts that he was struggling with.  we also went over some other ideas that might help him study in preparation for his test. We also touched on some concepts in his lab.

Tutoring review by Jessica in Round Rock, TX
During this session, the student and I began with some more reading work. We talked about long A and long I sounds/rhymes. Then we practiced some more calendar skills, identifying days and practicing saying the entire date (day, month, date). We then practiced some more mixed addition and subtraction. Finally, we finished up with some time work -- she seems to be catching on quickly and was doing a good job identifying big hand/little hand and the quarter-hour minute marks. We will keep practicing this next time!

Tutoring review by Daniel in Round Rock, TX
I met with the student to go over her Statistics homework. We started by reviewing the first lecture and I clarified any questions she had.  We then moved on to the assigned homework. The student worked through the problems as I helped her where she needed explanations. (Some of the concepts on types of scales were a little confusing and I offered explanations.) We also worked on summation notation and I showed her how to correctly solve the problems and think them through. Finally, we worked on frequency tables and I clarified concepts on relative frequency, cumulative frequency, and cumulative relative frequency.  The student seemed to understand the concepts a little better the second time through.  She admits it is still a little abstract but I think with a little practice and patience she will get the ideas.
