Tutoring review by Thomas in Riverdale, IL
I met with Student 1 and went over his future area homework with him. I also met with Student 2 and we went over two of his homework assignments on parallel lines cut by a transverse. Topics covered were corresponding angles, vertical angles, supplementary/complementary angles, and alternate interior/exterior angles. I was told that the boys were getting A's on their tests.

Tutoring review by Philip in Riverdale, IL
I first had the student complete questions from a worksheet I had written one at a time very slowly and to check that he copied down the correct terms with correct signs. He then worked one line at a time and carefully checked his work. He still made mistakes, but found all of them except one. He completed about 5 questions perfectly. We then covered chapter 10 in his workbook on log function transformations, vertical and horizontal shifts, stretches and reflections, etc.

Tonight the student and I got a start on his assignment for history -- to write a paragraph summing up Watergate. We read through his textbook together and every several paragraphs we broke down exactly what was happening. Some of the political twists and turns were a little convoluted, but he did a great job putting some of the text into his own words to better understand it. I'm glad we ended up working through the Watergate section together though as it was pretty hefty reading. The student nonetheless had great concentration overall and took excellent notes tonight.

We went through the pupil's trigonometry homework. She's very good at using basic trig functions. We spent time on complex word problems until she could see the pattern in the questions. We also worked on the law of sines and talked about how there are many ways to do each problem.

Tutoring review by Brian in Riverdale, IL
For our first session, the student and I went over his syllabus to determine what was expected of him in class, and talked about how we want to structure our sessions. He really just wants help studying, since he says he had trouble remembering how to apply all the concepts last time he took the course. We then covered the first chapter of his notes, which spanned topics like measures of centrality and dispersion, discrete and continuous variables, and so on. We were even able to make up for a day he missed. He seemed to get it well when I explained it to him, and claimed his understanding was improved after the session, so things are looking positive already.

Tutoring review by Joel in Riverdale, IL
We worked with complex numbers and the method of solving binomial functions by completing the square. The student struggled only slightly with keeping track of signs and with finding the proper perfect square. However, through practice, we were able to get through both. He was attentive and engaged throughout the session.
