Tutoring review by Jesse in Middletown, KY
The student and I continued to go over his Algebra 2 homework during the sessions. This session, we worked specifically on rational functions and how to graph such functions. As we continued to meet during these sessions, we will continue to improve our study habits. Ideally, I'd love to see him at least try the homework before we meet so that he can struggle with the concepts without me, and then can find resolutions while we're together. We are meeting again tomorrow, so I'll ask him to start it earlier and we'll see if it helps him retain things better.

The student and I went over the edge test he took this past Friday. He seemed to understand the concepts well when we talked about his mistakes, but he made some small errors on the test which led to calculations in the wrong direction. After going over the test, we talked about the new chapter he was starting in class on series and sequences. We covered the geometric series test and the integral test tonight.

Tutoring review by Evan in Middletown, KY
We went over concepts regarding similar polygons and congruence. She did not seem clear on which parts of the polygons needed to be paired in the fractions to find the other sides, so drilled through a few with my assistance and several on her own until she consistently was correct and quick. We went through old quizzes and homework to find other subjects of struggle, and we will work on various forms of lines in the next meeting.

Tutoring review by Rachel in Middletown, KY
The student had an upcoming test in her Biology class, so we spent this session reviewing for it. She had a few questions regarding diffusion/osmosis, polarity, specifics of macromolecules, and the organelles. After discussing these topics in depth, she had a much better understanding of the information. I quizzed her orally on topics she needed to know according to her study guide, and had her label a diagram of the cell since it would also be on her test. At the end of the session, she had a firm understanding of the concepts and felt confident going into the test.

Today we went over the student's quiz from last Tuesday. She did fairly well but struggled with assuming congruent sides and angles. She needs to focus on the information she sees and not guess at the right answers.
