Tutoring review by Jennifer in Hialeah Gardens, FL
Today, the student and I got acquainted and discussed the subjects to be covered in the sessions. We did some review work for her upcoming test in geometry. Primarily, we worked on using proportions on similar triangles to solve for unknowns. I will be bringing a few notes for the student at the next session that I hope will help to clarify some issues for her.

Tutoring review by Katelyn in Hialeah Gardens, FL
The student is beginning a new unit on Surveys and statistics. She had completed most of her homework on distinguishing random vs. non-random research questions as well as biased and fair questions--she easily understood and was able to complete this introductory material. The material we reviewed this week was focused on geometry-- lines and angles, triangles, and quadrilaterals. We approached the questions this week by writing out known pieces of information and what we needed to solve for (including units). I strongly believe that once she starts organizing the material she will do much better with her test prep-- most of the time it is as simple as just understanding exactly what the question is asking her to do.

Tutoring review by Lydia in Hialeah Gardens, FL
The student and I used this session to prepare for her test on Friday. We spent time going over all of the concepts we did from other sessions. We outlined the key points and practiced problems from each concept. We covered solving equations, systems of equations and inequalities, graphing standard form and intercept form, finding domain and range, finding interval of decrease and increase, and end behavior. She addressed the points that she needed to go over again and asked questions, which was good. I appreciate her focus and determination. This attitude will most certainly lead her to improvement.

Tutoring review by Nicholas in Hialeah Gardens, FL
We discussed integrating logarithmic functions, exponential functions, and integrating using u-substitution. The student sometimes forgets the chain rule, which is a fairly common mistake, but also one that is usually specifically tested for. We will review that every session until he knows it very well. Overall, he did very well on the problems that we reviewed. He was able to answer most of them with little guidance from me. I mentioned a few ways to structure his work so that the problems flow more clearly, and so he doesn't confuse himself.
