The student and I reviewed his two homework assignments this last session. We covered inequalities, graphing solutions, solving equations with absolute terms, and solving equations with both absolute terms and inequalities. We talked about the quiz he took this past week, where he did very well but just wanted to review the definitions of real numbers, integers, etc. He continues to do well and the material seems to be sticking.

Tutoring review by Bernadette in Farmingdale, NY
During today's session, the student and I began to read Hatchet. He had asked me last week if we could read it. We began at chapter 6, where he had left off from starting to read it before. At the beginning of the session, I posted a writing assignment asking him what he would do if he had a problem and had to solve it with limited resources. He did okay answering it, but was able to relate how to fix a problem in life once we started reading the book more. For next week, we will read chapter 7 and possibly 8.
