Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session, kinematics, projectile motion, scalars and vectors, and graphs were reviewed by creating examples and completing online homework, all in preparation for the upcoming exam."
"Physics: Newton's law: F = ma; Kinematics equations are applied in Newton's law questions, so you may have to use the 3 kinematics equations. When approaching problems, make sure to list down the 'givens' and know which are the 'givens', using the units. Also take note of what it's asking and use whatever equation incorporates all the variables."
"More on waves and cyclical phenomena, properties of sound, the Doppler effect, harmonics and resonance."
"Today we covered free body diagrams and summation of forces. The student wanted to focus on getting the right answers for her homework and lab assignments. I went over many tips and methods for solving problems throughout the duration of the session."
"We focused on correcting the student's exam and on the concepts of force diagrams, especially with forces with x and y components. The student always has a positive attitude, and I can see great improvement from her already. I recommended that we meet on a weekly basis. She agreed and we will continue to strengthen her physics skills together."
"We revisited the conservation of momentum / projectile motion problem from the last session. The student had attempted the problem on her own, but needed help completing it. We then spent the last half hour discussing (mostly conceptually) torque. It seems more intuitive to her, so I would like to revisit conservation of energy and momentum next time."
