Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we spent the first hour reviewing identifying significant figures, adding/subtracting them, and multiplying/dividing. In the last thirty minutes, we reviewed dimensional analysis. The student has made a lot of progress. She is very docile and cooperative. I'm happy that she seems to make such strides when we meet online."
"We studied for a test on chemical substances and mixtures. The student had already made flashcards for the material and appeared to know the definitions to over half of the vocabulary words. We also reviewed her math homework, which involved estimating sums and differences by first rounding each term before performing the operation."
"Today we covered problems associated with inversions and translocations, as well as polyploidy in plants. This subject matter is somewhat easier than previously, and we were able to make good progress."
"The student had a Physical Science experiment to write up. He worked through the different sections (i.e. data, results, discussion), and I helped guide him. He did a great job and will finish it up with his father."
"The student and I worked on his 8th grade science homework. The session mainly focused on Newton's second law (F=ma). We did a worksheet on calculating force, followed by an exercise where we described force as a vector. He picked up the subject matter very quickly and was able to appropriately work through the problems and provide the correct answers."
"I helped the student work on her science fair project proposal. She was able to finish the draft, and it is ready for her to submit. We worked on the methodology section and reviewed the whole draft and fixed a few errors. I helped the student by asking her questions to have her think about what needs to be done during the methodology. I think she is doing very well so far in forming her project, and she is ahead of schedule."
