Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We watched the new bio video and worked on the student's bio homework. We then spent the rest of the time working on graphing trig functions. We worked on the five-point method. She is starting to understand the process better. If she works on the sample problems, she should be ready for her test on Monday."
"The student is a very intelligent boy. I am excited to see him better his math skills as I continue to work with him. We worked on multiplication tables and he is extremely good at recognizing when multiplication is necessary."
"The student did not do so well on last exam that covered areas of polygons. Even though she felt comfortable with the formulas, she struggled when it came to application problems. So this session we focused on working on application problems."
"We covered finding the slope and y-intercept in equations with 2 variables. We covered working with radicals and simplifying radicals. We even reviewed physical science equations related to acceleration, velocity, and force."
"The student has a test tomorrow, so we spent the session continuing to review trigonometry. We reviewed the worksheet of homework problems that we started looking at last Thursday. He has mostly memorized the sines and cosines of the important angles, and he should continue to review those. We discussed test strategies as we went through the problems. I emphasized drawing the angle from each test question so that he can make sure to visualize it. I think he understands all the concepts very well. He should do well."
"We reviewed graphing polynomial, radical, exponential, logarithmic, and rational functions. We weren't able to completely finish the review sheet, but I gave the student suggestions on what to focus his studying on."
