Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed operations with mixed numbers and converting fractions to decimals, and vice versa."
"The student and I worked on reviewing for her Math quiz. She practiced solving equations using the quadratic formula. After that, we also began reviewing for her History test next week."
"We reviewed the area and perimeter of squares and rectangles. We also reviewed the multiplication tables for 2s and 3s and started on 11s."
"1) We covered the basics of functions: definition, how to plot, and determining if something is a function based on its graph. We also covered algebraic inequalities, linear regression, and word problems (based on linear functions). 2) After practice problems in each topic, the student started to feel more comfortable with the material asked. We focused most heavily on the algebraic inequalities, as that allowed me to easily review algebraic rules as well as graphing simultaneously. 3) I mentioned to him that he should aim to ask at least one question every lecture, to review the material from the previous lecture 10 minutes before class begins, and to review the material of that day's lecture the same evening."
"We covered: Simplifying radicals: addition/subtraction and multiplication/division. Exponent rules and solving equations with radicals. Rationalizing the denominator with the conjugate."
"We reviewed the chapter 2 exam. We also discussed the different equations for lines and how that equation is altered by absolute value functions and inequalities. He is able to retake this exam sometime in the next week or so."
