Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I read act 3, scene 1 of Macbeth while she annotated each character's dialogue. We discussed imagery, symbolism, mood, and plot and character analysis. The student also pointed out instances of foreshadowing while connecting events in the plot. She excelled at connecting plot events and foreshadowing future events through discussion. It was a good session."
"The student and I worked on preparing for the essay portion of her final exam. She plotted an outline, developed a thesis, and gathered material from the text of Macbeth to use as support. We spent the remainder of the time reviewing vocabulary for that section of the test."
"This was our first session. The student is nervous about her ability to do well in her World Literature class. They have only had one session. We went over the assigned essay on "Heroes." We also discussed epic poetry and World Literature in general, with particular attention to the Iliad and Odyssey. She has been assigned the first 5 books of The Odyssey. I will have a better sense of what we need to focus on when she sends me essays that she has written for other classes, which she promised to do today. She is a good student and a pleasant person. I do not foresee any problems with her World Lit class, at least not on her part."
