Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered the bulk of chapter 1, including Lewis Dot Diagrams, resonance structures, electronegativity and bonding, hybridization, and some IUPAC naming. We also discussed tactics for being successful in the course. The student seems excited about the class, and I encouraged her to take advantage of all the resources the course offers (TA sessions, practice problems, office hours, etc.) At the end of the session, we went over the problems in the book. I encouraged her to do all of the ones from Chapter 1, but focused on some that she should be especially focused on. I also noted that she should try to tell me about any especially tricky or confusing problems (from the book or TA sessions) slightly prior to our session, so I can think about the best ways to conceptualize/work through them."
"We covered the pathways and osmolarity. She had her own notes and practice to review. She did not understand concepts at the beginning but grasped the material pretty well at the end."
"We primarily covered the Mendelian Genetics concepts we were working on from Tuesday, and covered a bit of Chemistry, primarily pertaining to intermolecular interactions and forces."
