Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I helped the student with simplifying polynomials and helped her with differential equations, integrals and derivatives."
"We reviewed finding area and perimeter by creating fictional emu farms. Then we reviewed fractions: adding with unlike denominators, comparing, simplifying, and finding equivalent fractions."
"The student and I discussed his math assignment on simplifying radical expressions in preparation for his quiz on Friday."
"Today, we reviewed the math strategies discussed in the student's last session. Then, we moved on to word problem practice. I taught him the four steps for solving word problems and four different methods for checking his work. He did very well, and he was attentive and polite throughout the session. He said that he used one of the "tricks" from Tuesday in math class today at school."
"Today was a review for the student's biology exam. We went through all of her old notes, and I quizzed her on general questions. For the most part, she remembered the material."
"Today the student and I completed his mid-chapter test review study guide, as well as a few more questions that I created. I am really trying to get him to show his work still instead of trying to do things in his head, as well as getting him to write bigger so that when he does show his work, he doesn't make more mistakes. In general, he does get confused when trying to do multiple steps in his head (as anyone does), so I really want him to break that habit. I think he is ready for his mid-chapter test."
