Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"For calculus, we went over a few homework problems that he hadn't been able to figure out on domain and range of functions. For chemistry, we went over some questions on the classification of different compounds, and identifying the number of protons and electrons in an element."
"We worked a lot with trigonometric functions and simplifying by using identities. The student is also prepping for an AP stats exam next week."
"We went over problems involving complex numbers. By the end of the session, the student demonstrated that he was able to solve the problems correctly."
"We went over a quiz the student had taken in class, then she proceeded to work on her homework. The material was about determining if something was a function and giving the domain and range. Overall, she understands the material very well."
"The student and I had another great session. We got into the math very quickly and she was able to work through most of her homework. We reviewed some quadratic formula problems. We solved for x in various ways and functions. We had a great discussion about how to analyze graphs and lines in point-slope form. I feel like she has a much better understanding of graphs and how to find y-intercepts and x-intercepts. We did run into a little bit of a crunch with time, so in the future I will make sure to cover the ones she might have more difficulty with first."
"We went over domains and ranges again, this time working with graphs and transformations. We also covered some features of graphs, transforms of functions and their respective graphs, and evaluation of expressions with function references in them. His main difficulty has been finding a function's domain from its formula. He has been getting 80s in online quizzes, but has not had any tests yet."
