Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over some carbonyl reactions and aldol reactions. We also went over alcohol synthesis and ether synthesis reactions."
"During this session we focused on studying for the student's exam. We went over some questions in the prep book dealing with forces and motion. Overall this session went well."
"We reviewed for the student's test on Ideal Gas Laws, reviewed problems concerning ideal gas law and combined gas law."
"The student and I reviewed the history of atoms and measurements. His mistakes are generally small mistakes that are consistent (such as leaving off units and determining the proper exponent in scientific notation)."
"We discussed evolutionary biology and the terms associated with this theory. We discussed at length the differences of analogous vs homologous structures, genetic drift and genetic flow, and vestigial structures. We continued to discuss natural selection and artificial selection, delving into various examples of both and how they are shown through various means (cellular, molecular, and structural)."
"The student started on his geometry homework (determining slopes from equations), which was rapidly completed. Then we moved on to previously missed quizzes, covering stoichiometry. He was moving very rapidly through the subjects, causing errors due to inattention. Several times I had to ask him to slow down and allow me to double check his work. Overall, he gave me the impression of being comfortable with his chemistry and geometry. Unfortunately, he made many errors due to attempting to complete the topics quickly. I strongly encouraged him to slow down and, just as importantly, double check his work."
