"We prepped for her exam, going through methods of solving quadratics and some complex numbers, as well as some troubleshooting."
"We worked on a math review packet provided by her school. We went over strategies to successfully solve each problem, as well as testing strategies in general."
"The student and I worked on problems in multivariable calculus, partial derivatives, and using the chain rule to solve partial derivation problems."
"The student and I began his semester exam review packet. We covered piece wise functions, interpretations of lines and their associated functions. The student continues to improve."
"We reviewed a partial fractions problem left from our last session. Then we did word problems from the SAT test prep book. I suggested that the student do some word problems on his own, and we will go over them at our next session."
"Today we reviewed a combination of several ideas centering around exponential and logarithmic equations. We looked at expansions, contractions, change-of-base, solving equations, and most particularly, using the product rule to evaluate complicated derivatives. He remembered most of it well on his own and picked up everything else very quickly. We also covered the quotient rule briefly, but as he was quite skilled with the product rule, I also explained the "turn the quotient into a product" strategy as an alternative to the quotient rule. He seemed to learn both techniques well."
