Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This was our first session. We covered mathematical word problems dealing with the ideal gas law and specific heat. Tomorrow we will cover general basic chemistry problems to help the student study for his exam."
"The student had a test on naming ionic and covalent compounds. It was a final. I helped her go over some of the naming tips and gave her some other study suggestions."
"Today we covered material that was more related to physics. We worked with basic distance over time equations. We plan to review further on unit conversions and dimensional analyses."
"We went over constructions of angle bisectors, perpendicular bisectors, medians, altitudes, inscribed triangles, and circumscribed triangles. Afterwards we went over some more examples on triangle congruency proofs. It took me awhile to determine what material to go over with the student. However, he expressed his weak points and I worked on that with him to make sure he knows how to do the problems. I showed him how to do the constructions and I looked over his work after he was done. By the end of the session, I believe we covered everything that he has done in class and hopefully at our next session we'll discuss similarities."
"The student and I worked on a new chemistry lesson, introducing her to different forms of energy, kinetic and potential, as well as their involvement in classifying reactions as either exothermic or endothermic. She did very well in taking in and understanding this new information."
"Today we reviewed high energy molecules, metabolism, and the detailed steps of glycolysis. We also discussed the effects of glycolytic enzyme deficiencies on the production of 2,3-BPG, in red blood cells, as well as oxygen affinity."
