Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over the English section of the ACT and covered a lot of grammar rules like the use of em dashes but also general techniques to use and traps to watch for, most notable how to spot the most tempting incorrect response and how the test makers use half-truths to make a wrong answer seem more appealing."
"In the beginning of today's session, the student practiced a few additional reading passages to work on his methods for approaching the reading portion of the test. He has improved so much since we've started. His confidence in these sections is very noticeable. After we worked with the reading, we moved on to look at the math section. We walked through several math questions and covered some topics that were unfamiliar and uncomfortable. He is progressing quite well. Next session we will be working on going through more math practice together and then moving on to doing solo practice where we can time him and collect an overall score. He is incredibly motivated to do well and with this behavior I have no doubts he will succeed on the test."
"We reviewed Math concepts from last session, then practiced sections in Math, Critical Reading, Science, & English. The student held on to the Math concepts pretty well, so I'm going to continue reviewing that way."
