Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I started to work on some word roots and stems from an assessment math book I have used in the past. The student's mom brought out a score report from the last time she took the assessment, and I used this to change our game plan a bit. The student did well in all sections, and it seems she can grab the most point in a few of the Critical Reading areas. I plan to spend time in the future working on style/tone questions, as well as algebra/functions in the math section. Towards the end of the session, we did do a bit more work on the word roots/stems, and the student seemed to grasp those readily."
"In our final session, the student and I went over his most recent practice essays, did a little more practice together, and discussed preparation for test day. He is very prepared and has every reason to be confident, so I am sure that he will do an excellent job on the exam."
"The student and I reviewed the Reading and Writing section of the SAT. We continue to make progress on the Reading section, though some sections seem to be more difficult for her than others. As long as we continue to practice critical reading skills, she will continue to improve. She did great on the Writing section of the exam, and I taught her several grammar rules that will help her even more on the Writing section going forward (e.g. dangling modifiers)."
