Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student was working on an essay for Frankenstein, so we spent the session going over the essay and finding ways to improve the narrative."
"This session we focused on solving equations using the substitution and elimination methods. We also worked on problems from the textbook and standard SAT questions."
"We went over trigonometric ratios. The students were given right triangles and the length of one side. They were also given the trigonometric ratios of the triangle and expected to find the other lengths of the sides of the triangle. We also went over radians and negative degrees."
"We analyzed the mistakes on the last exam in the beginning of the session. Next we were simplifying complex fractions. We completed the set of the problem with exponents and then solved the exponential equation in quadratic form by factoring and substitution."
"We covered interpreting and simplifying rational expressions. I showed her basic concepts like how to find intercepts and asymptotes. I also re-introduced factoring quadratic equations so to make other objectives easier. I ran through a number of examples with her making sure she mastered the concepts I showed her. We then went through graphs so to have her make the visual connections to what she has been doing. We finished the session going over radian conversion and application of trig functions."
"The student has a test on Tuesday, so we reviewed the chapter and discussed what she is putting on her flashcards. The test is covering what we have been going over the past few weeks."
