Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I continued to review for his final exam Friday. We have a last review session scheduled for tomorrow at 2 PM."
"Topics Covered: - Similar Triangles - Deductive and Inductive reasoning Progress Achieved: - We completed all of the student's review packets"
"We reviewed concepts in geometry including secants, circles, sectors and applied them to practice problems in the final review guide."
"We covered multiple geometric concepts as the student is preparing for a geometry final exam. His attitude was excellent and I would love to work with him again."
"The student and I went over arc lengths and the volume/surface area of spheres today. She seemed pretty comfortable with the knowledge, only sometimes tripping up over whether the radius was cubed or squared. Since all three topics are formula based, it just comes down to knowing the formula and how to manipulate it, and she has a good command of the subject."
"The student's free response portion of her final is tomorrow. We spent the biggest chunk of time on the quadrilaterals again since that is where the proofs are, and a lot of the other chapters used formulas a lot more. We proved that the diagonals of a rhombus are perpendicular and that they bisect the angles. We proved that the diagonals in a rectangle are congruent. We went over the properties of kites and trapezoids, but we didn't do proofs with them. We reviewed the circle formulas and generalized them: For angles whether it's tangent/tangent, secant/tangent, or secant/secant it's 1/2(big arc-little arc). For segment lengths it's (outside)(whole)=(outside)(whole). I think she is ready for her final. I gave her a website with some extra practice on the circle questions if she wants to look at some tricky pictures. The formulas themselves are not an issue."
