Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed rational expressions and solving rational equations with extraneous solutions. We also began to prep for the SAT in the fall."
"The student and I did division of polynomials for most of our session. I know that his future is very bright."
"We mostly reviewed conics to prepare for the quiz on Friday. We also have reviewed phase changes in chemistry."
"Today we covered percent tips and tax. The student seemed to understand the material pretty well. He would occasionally be too hasty to answer a question and give me the tip total when I asked for the total bill. His mathematics skill in this area however, seems to be fine. We did a little review of order of operations problems, which went well. Overall, he seemed to have a decent grasp on his current mathematics topics."
"Today we solved absolute value functions. The student learned the concept quickly, so we used that opportunity to review solving one- and two-step equations as well. Afterward, we looked at the upcoming material, solving and graphing absolute value inequalities. Again, he grasped the concept, so we discussed the methods of solving these inequalities while we practiced the new material. Overall, it was a great session. Taking his time and not skipping steps will likely improve his performance during tests and quizzes. His parents will be sending me a copy of his last quiz to review shortly to confirm this."
"We continued to work on the next lesson. We had a little bit of an issue when I asked the student to use a ruler when graphing but we worked through it. I wanted her to take pride in the work she is handing in and feel like it was her best effort."
