"The student wanted to work on English. This section gave her difficulty. Questions about comma usage, modifier placement, and agreement were areas to keep working, but where she could really improve is a more systematic approach to answering questions."
"We started today's session with some math review. She has a good grasp of concepts but has difficulty applying them especially to the word problems and geometry problems. We worked on writing out equations. She struggled with reading questions too quickly at times and missing important information, so we reinforced the importance of getting the whole picture before selecting answers. This applies to both math and verbal sections. We made a list of vocabulary words from the verbal sections for her to review prior to next session. We identified her main issues as understanding the writer's perspective and keeping in mind the main idea of the passage while reading the questions."
"We worked on Sections 7-10 of a practice test. Section 7 and 9 were verbal, section 8 was a math, and section #10 was a writing section. The student can improve in his vocabulary, as well as his grammar for the writing section. My advice for him was to work with flashcards and read more books to improve his grammar skills. These two things will not only help improve accuracy and scores on the test, but also with time management for those sections, leading to better scores with the answers themselves and having more time to answer each question."
