Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has a packet of practice problems to help review for her final exam that is in a couple of weeks. We started at the beginning of the packet, which covers things from the beginning of the class equations of linear lines, how to find then given points or slopes, parallel and perpendicular lines, and direct variation. A lot of these concepts she has a vague memory of. I worked through one of each of the problems to review for her, and then she would do the others that were similar."
"We covered more of mean value theorem and also did more calculation problems for U substitution. I gave extra problems for him as well."
"Introductory session with the student. Went over some previous exams to get a feel for what might be happening and also went over some problem sets. We will spend time next session talking about current work and what she has questions on."
"The student and I reviewed for her final today, going through a practice exam and answering any questions she had."
"In our session yesterday the student and I prepared for his exam this coming Tuesday. We continued to work on factoring, solving, and graphing polynomial functions. In addition, we went over some new material he had done this past week about how to write down a function by looking at the graph. We identified the xintercepts, which allowed us to write the factored form with a variable coefficient, and then plugged in a 4th given point to solve for the unknown coefficient."
"Today, the student and I went over 2 lessons from her online homework, which had to do with using the distributed properties to solve for an unknown variable. She did great! We made sure to work on breaking down the problems into multiple steps. She is a great student and a very hard worker!"
"The student reviewed possible questions that may have been on his test for that day. He went over problems that included making equations from a given slope and making a line from a given equation. He reviewed notes as well as a prep sheet that was given to him prior to the test. All problems were reviewed in detail and guiding questions were provided when needed."
"We covered the dot and cross products, as well as spherical and polar coordinates in reviewing for his final.
Once he has the formulas, he does well with finding the solution."

"We reviewed a study sheet for a test that he will take tomorrow. I had him return to the section in his book about the method for finding the possible range of the length of the hypotenuse of a triangle when given the first two sides. Other problems involved classifying the shortest, middle, and longest side of triangles based on the angle measures."
"I went over lessons 58 and 59 with them. Student 1 did very well on her last assignments and only missed a few problems.
Student 2 has been improving. She was making a mistake of combining some things in her equations, but after some review, she has a grasp on PEMDAS and what can and can't be combined in a math problem.
Then we went over the next few lessons, which included circles."

"The student was very excited about her 100 she received on her quiz from last week. To review for her Chapter 3 test tomorrow, she completed the Chapter Review problems at school, and we went over two specific questions she had. She then continued by completing the Chapter 3 Test and additional problems from the Additional Chapter 3 Practice questions. She feels confident and ready for her test tomorrow and looks forward to another high grade."
"We went over the student's most recent exam. From what I can see, the student understands most of the concepts but makes some simple errors."
