"We did a review for his upcoming exam. We covered kinematics, circular motion and Newton's second law."
"We went over all of her review problems for her final exam. Mostly aldol and carboxylic acid derivative reactions."
"We covered Stereoselective and Thermo/kinetic enolization and the role conditions of the reaction play on determining the site and geometry. Covered how HMPA can effect enolization by favoring the thermodynamic product. Did several problems that gave different conditions and had to determine the site and geometry of the enolates formed. Described how the size of the group attached to the carbonyl effects the geometry of the enolate. Worked on a problem that shows how geometry of the enolate can effect the diastereoselective of the reaction."
"Today we met for the first time and did a bit of preliminary work and review for the exam this week. Since chapter one was devoted to basic math, we only worked problems from chapter two (velocity, position, and acceleration). Things went well, and I think you're set up for success on the exam! Let me know if you have any questions! Thanks!"
"The student had a post lab from the titration lab they did that day in class. The first thing we did was discuss the procedure and materials used since their teacher had made some puzzling statements that she needed clarified. Specifically, this was their first time doing a titration and using that type of burette, so I took the time to draw a diagram and explain how those burettes tend to start at zero from the top and then measure what's inside them in terms of what's been added to the flask below. From there, it was just a few relatively simple calculations of the acids' molarities (one monoprotic and one diprotic) using the M1V1=M2V2 formula. There was also a hypothetical question in which a dihydroxic base and triprotic acid were used that a molarity had to be calculated for."
"This was a review for his final tomorrow. We went through a bunch of review problems from a packet, did a lot of general concept review talking through gravity and gas law problems then back to energy and power we've talked about the past couple sessions. Again I stressed the importance of careful algebra and paying attention to units since making the units work is a great check of equation understanding and proper algebra."
