Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"It was a pleasure to meet the student and her father this afternoon. She is a dedicated and motivated student with a lot of potential. I know this because when I asked her which study program she wanted to initiate for her SAT studies (these programs involved varying numbers of sectional "drill" practice and full-length tests), she assured me that the SAT was her first priority and that she would be pursuing the hardest study program I offered. For this reason, I am very excited to be working with her. At this session, we laid out a reasonable study schedule. We discovered that she will be able to take a total of eight full-length practice tests before the official SAT test date. With two sessions per week, this is definitely enough time to prepare her. At the session, we also reviewed the PSAT data and the practice tests that she took through the first tutors. These will be useful reference points as we move forward."
"We covered literary terms and devices that will be used on the test, and went over sections of a practice exam. The student did very well, scoring high and completing the sections in a good amount of time. I am confident she will do very well on the exam!"
"We began the session by reviewing some of the vocab words we learned yesterday. We then went over my handout for SAT essay strategies and outlined a practice prompt together. We went through one practice reading comprehension passage together and then made a list of math topics that the student thinks he might need a little practice with. We will start our session on Monday by going over some practice questions on these topics."
