"We went over the chapter notes provided by the student's teacher; neuroendocrine pathways, types of tissues, thermoregulation, and feedback systems. Today I tested her ability to orally explain concepts and she did a good job across all topics. I left her with questions that I want her to answer by tomorrow. I reminded her of the importance of slowing down when reading notes and exam questions so that she doesn't miss key words."
"Today, we reviewed the past chapter on gas laws. We focused on the theoretical understanding of the various relationships between pressure, volume, and temperature. I think the student emerged with a full understanding of the concepts!"
"The student has a science test on Monday, so we went through each practice worksheet to prepare him for the exam. We went through the names of the groups and families on the periodic table, atomic mass, atomic number, chemical symbol, and the history of the development of the atom. He was already very strong at determining the number of subatomic particles from the atomic mass and number. He was less confident on the names of the group and families on the periodic table, so we went through each one and came up with mnemonic devices to help him remember them. We also reviewed the history of developing the atomic model several times to help him to remember the stages. I had him take notes on the most important contributions of each of the scientists so that he can continue to review before his exam."
