Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We spent most of our time reviewing and learning any unfamiliar concepts in pre-Algebra, then we completed several example problems to make sure the student understood the concepts. We spent the rest of our time learning new vocabulary words and testing sample problems from the vocabulary section."
"We went over material for the math portion of the ACT. We haven't went over any strategies yet, but just covering the basic topics to build a foundation of what is on the exam. The student definitely seems to understand most of the concepts pretty well. He just needs some review for the different equations. He definitely seems eager to learn."
"Today the student and I covered a lot of algebraic functions and basic problem solving for the ACT Math prep. We covered slope-intercepts, standard form, and graphing, which are subjects that she said she hadn't felt comfortable about when she took a diagnostic test earlier this week. She feels a lot more confident within those areas now, and I'll be sure to continue reviewing them in future sessions. We also worked through some word problems, such as finding revenue, costs, and profits. This is another area I plan on reviewing with her more in depth. For our next session, along with what I already mentioned, I also plan on going over geometry concepts."
