Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed her homework, which was about integers, adding and subtracting. She did very well! She just needed some help re: absolute value."
"We covered log functions and how to graph and solve them. I showed the student a few tricks that seemed to help him immensely, including how to multiply fractions (which he had been struggling with). He got an 83 on his most recent test, which is quite a good improvement from the last test."
"The student and I reviewed parametric equations, especially polar graphs (circles, cardioids, and some flowery ones), as well as volumes of solids of revolution and areas bounded by a graph. We worked on these via our established routine."
"We again went over inequality expressions this week, focusing on how to deconstruct word problems. He finished his homework and then did some challenge exercises in preparation for his upcoming test"
"We worked on math practice: proportions, fractions, percentages, and reading/interpreting rate of change tables."
"The student and I reviewed factoring polynomials and multiplying binomial expressions for the majority of the session. We also worked on functions toward the end. She seemed to better understand the process of multiplying binomials, and later polynomials, toward the end of the session. We talked about testing strategies to complete these types of problems on exams."
