Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Student 1 and I discussed several problems in probability and we reviewed his homework discussing these topics. I additionally answered a few of student 2's questions for a short time and spoke with student 2 about her most recent test."
"The student and I went over a review packet in preparation for his upcoming exam on logarithmic and exponential functions. We also completed problems from worksheets in order to gain additional practice. We concluded the session by examining his project on unemployment."
"During this session, the student and I worked on her homework for the night, which was a worksheet on mathematical induction. She had done some example problems in class. We first went through the example problem and talked about how to solve it using factoring by grouping. Once I showed her the steps of how multiplying it out and regrouping to factor in the example problem, she was able to go though and do the homework problem with minimal help from me."
"In this session we covered the four different cases of partial fraction decomposition. The student did well during the session. He understood the concepts well and was able to figure out the solution to the problem at hand. He just needs to allow himself enough time to think the problem through. Once he did that during the session, the math flowed easily."
"Today the student and I went over two of her old quizzes in order to prepare for her final exam. The two quizzes we went over covered the use of different trigonometric identities. We went over the double angle identity, the Pythagorean identity, as well as numerous others. We are planning to meet at least once more before her final examination."
"We continued reviewing how to graph trigonometric functions today. We focused today on cosine, and explored its properties. We also discussed its relationship to sin, and the student is doing very well. He has a solid understanding of the concepts and is able to replicate the steps to produce the functional forms by graphing."
