"In this lesson, we went over implicit differentiation problems, slopes/equations of tangent lines, differentiability of piecewise functions and we reviewed working with the definition of derivative. I noticed significant progress since last session. He's come a long way in understanding the chain rule, product rule, etc. And has such a better grasp of the concept of a derivative and working with the definition. The algebra aspect still gives him trouble, but we try to work around that as much as possible."
"The student and I covered limits, derivatives, and brushed over continuity. We spent most of our time reviewing limits and derivatives. These included basic limits and rules, basic derivatives and rules, and limits and derivatives from his practice exam. We covered factoring and distributive properties and did a review of them to refresh his memory, which will allow him to properly solve limits. He mainly struggled with the algebra and did well with the calculus portion of his problems. I asked him to finish his last derivative problems and we will look over them, and practice more problems that are similar."
"We started learning antiderivatives or integrals today. She picked up the simple rule of what an integral is very quickly and we very easily worked through her homework. She did a very good job!"
"The student and I covered how to use the rule to solve limits. She was having the hardest time with knowing when to use which method."
"This was my first meeting with the student. We discussed his online class and planned out a total of 6 sessions to complete before his final. We spent most of the time going over some of his homework problems which focused on differentiation word problems as well as integration. We will meet again on Sunday to discuss his next set of homework problems and review areas."
"We primarily covered the more complex methods of finding derivatives, such as multiplication, division, and the chain rule. The only thing the student had difficulty with is when multiple rules needed to be applied to one function. However, he picked it up quickly and was eventually able to solve complex problems fairly easily."
